There is bias in AI algorithms, and you don’t want to end up with a piece of content that made up your sentiment for you or, even worse — supported opinions that are not even your own
- Transparency! Be transparent about when and where you’ve used AI!
Combating Plagiarism with AI
SBS – How effective is AI in detecting and preventing plagiarism in digital content?
Madeleine – I would advise using AI tools that specialize in plagiarism detection and not ever relying on a platform like ChatGPT for any of that.
SEO and AI
SBS – How does AI impact search engine optimization (SEO) for bloggers and content creators?
Madeleine – We don’t really know yet! Over the last year, there have been so many Google updates (presumably Google’s attempt at cracking down on generative AI). I’d say it’s too early to tell exactly how AI will impact SEO in the long term, but I do believe, like mentioned above, that opinion pieces with personal sentiment, perspective, and experience are going to get more SEO recognition than ever before.

SBS – How can AI be used to personalize content for different audiences, and what are the benefits and drawbacks of this approach?
Madeleine – AI can personalize content by analyzing user behavior, preferences, and demographics. The benefits include increased engagement, improved user experience, and higher conversion rates. Drawbacks may include potential privacy concerns and the challenge of striking the right balance between personalization and avoiding an overly algorithmic approach that might alienate some audiences.
Training AI for Content Creation
SBS – What goes into training AI models for content creation, and how does Originality.ai ensure the quality and accuracy of its outputs?
Madeleine – To give a very simplified explanation, training AI models involves feeding them vast datasets of known human written content and classifying it as such, and then feeding them vast datasets of known AI-generated content. We constantly evolve and get better by trying to break and trick our own detector and then train the next model with a dataset that has been intentionally created to fill that hole.

SBS – What are your predictions for the role of AI in content industries like blogging, journalism, and online publishing in the near future?
Madeleine – As we have seen over the last year, AI is playing an increasingly integral role in content industries. Bloggers, journalists, and online publishers have the power to leverage AI for content creation in great ways, but as we have seen, this isn’t always the case! AI scandals that involve the publishing of AI hallucinations, fake authors, and the proliferation of misinformation have been a big problem. We need to proactively tackle it and come up with standard guidelines for AI usage that prioritizes transparency and promotes the ethical use of AI tools in content creation.
