How to File an LLC Annual Registration in Georgia

In Georgia, your LLC is legally required to file an annual registration with the state. Failure to do so can lead to fines and even the closure of your business, so it’s crucial that you stay up-to-date.

Your LLC must file an annual registration, known as an annual report in most states and also known as a statement of information, with your state to keep your company in good standing.

Any business that is legally registered with the state of Georgia must file this registration, which includes detailed information about your business. 

How to File a Georgia Annual Registration

In Georgia, the annual registration is filed with the Secretary of State. You can file online by visiting the secretary of state’s website and taking the following steps. 

  1. Go to the secretary of state’s website and enter your business name or control number
  2. Fill out the annual registration form
  3. Pay the $50 fee and file your report  

To file by mail, do the following:

  • Visit the SOS’s Georgia Corporations Division website
  • Follow the instructions to search for your business
  • Print out and complete the annual registration form
  • Please note:
    • There is an additional $10 service charge for submitting by mail
    • Your envelope must be postmarked April 1 to avoid a $25 late fee 
  • Mail your completed form, along with your payment, to:

In Georgia, annual reports are due every year on April 1st. The penalty for filing late is $25, while the penalty for failing to register a report altogether is a civil suit or administrative dissolution of the LLC.
